Our nonprofit foundation presented 140 incentive gift
cards ($25 each) to show our appreciation for low-salaried employees who care
for developmentally disabled adults in our community. It was a total surprise
to everyone - and the response has been heartwarming. The card-gift bypassed
their payroll process and was therefore nontaxable to the recipients. The
recipients liked the "high-tech" feel of the card (and we felt it was more
professional just giving cash) -- plus it was a totally new kind of gift for
them, which was fun. I like the two options for card activation - though not as
secure in the event of card loss, etc, the phone method is quick and
user-friendly; alternately, there is more flexibility available for those who
can handle the internet registration process. We purchased the cards during the
wonderful no-fee special, so the only administration cost to our foundation was
postage, which we appreciated. Hopefully that program will continue. Thanks for
