CardEx Partners with a Marketing Company to Create a Cost Effective Employee Expense Program
THE CLIENT
A national Event Marketing and Promotion Agency
THE
CHALLENGE
The client was in search of a solution to provide safe and
easy product promotion funds to its independent promoters. The promoters and
spokespeople were located throughout the United States. The client required a
program that would quickly provide funds to the promoters and also monitor
their expenses. The independent promoter’s job consisted of promoting alcoholic
beverages in stores, bars, and nightclubs. The promoters needed to have money
to purchase products for consumers as samples in order to entice them to
purchase the products. Since the
promoters had 10 product campaigns within a weekend, they needed enough funds
to carry out their promotions. The promoters also needed a way to track their
time, their location, and confirm that they were purchasing the correct products
to promote.
THE SOLUTION
CardEx created an expense program that would give the client
detailed reports to confirm that the promoters were using the funds
properly. These reports displayed the
time the promoter began working (i.e. the time stamp of their first transaction),
the location the transactions were processed (Merchant Name, City, State,
Merchant ID and Category), and the transaction amount. The client transferred
funds to CardEx on a weekly basis. To
keep the promotions in order, two separate prepaid debit cards were given to
the promoters. One prepaid debit card was loaded with $300.00 to be used specifically
for bars and nightclub product promotions. The second prepaid debit card was loaded
with $125.00 and was specifically for in-store promotions.
THE RESULT
CardEx solution, a reloadable prepaid MasterCard, was quick,
convenient, and easy to manage. An existing CardEx design was used in order to
expedite the program launch and reduce the cost, however; each card was
personalized with the promoter’s name and subsequently mailed directly to them.
This program began in 2007 with 50 independent promoters and resulted in a
total of $440,000 in funding from the client. The CardEx MasterCard Expense
Program gave the client the security and flexibility to launch and manage
several successful promotions in the subsequent years.
