Alan Safahi
President & Chief Executive Officer
Alan Safahi is the President and CEO of Card Express Inc. (CardEx), a leading
prepaid debit card processor.
Alan has over 20 years experience in starting up and managing high technology
and financial services businesses.
Prior to CardEx, Alan founded two start-ups from 1985 to 1995: Beta Tech, a Los
Angeles computer hardware/software company, and California Commuter (CalCom),
an Irvine telecommunications firm.
Alan received his B.S. degree in engineering from California State University,
Fullerton (CSUF) and his M.B.A. from University of Southern California (USC).
He has returned to Cal State Fullerton in recent years as an Entrepreneur in
Residence and an advisor to the university's Small Business Institute.
Alan is a member of Tech Coast Angels (TCA), the largest angel network in the
U.S. He is an active member of, and frequently speaks to, several trade
associations including Banking Industry Association (BIA) and Incentive
Marketing Association (IMP).

Tom Cleveland
Chief Financial Officer
Tom Cleveland joined CardEx in 2008 as a senior executive with over
30 years experience in executive management, corporate governance and business
development experience in the financial services sector.
Tom served as CFO for various Visa International entities from 1980
until 1999, retiring with the title of Group EVP and Treasurer. Since his
"retirement", Tom has been consulting clients in the global payments industry,
successfully designing, building and operating an international private
payments network in twenty countries in B2B, C2B and C2C cross-border payments.
While at Visa, Tom was instrumental in expanding the global reach
of the Visa system, building the necessary financial and cross-border
settlement infrastructure to support that growth, designing and deploying
global risk management processes, and securing necessary regulatory approvals
for existing operating standards.
Prior to Visa, Tom served as Controller for various companies and
was in public accounting.
He earned an engineering degree from Georgia Institute of
Technology and did graduate work in Finance at Georgia State University.

Ron Wiggins
Chief Operations Officer
Ron Wiggins joined Card Express International in 2007 after over 25 years of
working in the payments and transaction processing industries as an
entrepreneur, CEO, Divisional General Manager, Sales Executive, Systems Analyst
and consultant. His responsibilities at Card Express include Operations,
Product Development, Risk Management, Implementations, Client Relations and
Customer Service. He also serves in the role of advisor to the CEO and Board of
Directors on matters of Strategic Planning.
Most recently Ron has been very active in the prepaid debit card industry as a
consultant to payment processors and service providers. From 2000 - 2005 he
headed the prepaid and e-commerce divisions of Lynk Systems, Inc. which became
RBSLynk after being acquired by The Royal Bank of Scotland in 2004. In his role
at RBSLynk, Ron pioneered many of the technologies, business models and
operational disciplines that are now prevalent in the prepaid industry.
Prior to RBSLynk, Ron was the founder and CEO of Viaplex Communications, Inc., a
network consulting and system integration provider to corporate clients with
specialization in the brokerage and stock exchange industries. While with
Viaplex, Ron pioneered the concept of converged network services integrating
voice, video and data applications across enterprise networks and was
instrumental in the design and deployment of several large-scale trading
network platforms and corporate network infrastructures.
